licht and tenebrae

The exhibition ''Licht and Tenebrae'' – a title in a mix of languages to represent the cultural diversity of the participating artists – explores the language of light and darkness in the optical medium photography and video, then jumps into the ''tenebrae'', the darkness, to bring back artworks about memory.

Anne Kathrin Greiner, Nazli Eda Noyan, Catalina Giraldo Vélez & Marlen Pelny, Juliane Jaschnow & Stefan Petermann, Nat Tafelmacher-Magnat

Part of the exhibition is Catalina Giraldo Vélez's and Marlen Pelny's poetry film ''The picture in the picture in the picture in the picture'' as a metaphor for the nostalgia
of forgotten times. Then, in the gloom, a blood-red light flickers: Juliane Jaschnow's and Stefan Petermann's poetry film ''The Wolf fearing the Wolf'' explores the past as an armour.
